MONTERO was born from the union of the terms Montepulciano and San Severo and wants to underline the strong link of this important vine to our territory.
MONTERO is one of the first labels put on the market by our company in the 1960s.
The current blend, in addition to the presence of Montepulciano, includes a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon which is able to better soften the vigorous tannins and make the aromatic spectrum more complex.

Production area: “Coppanetta” estate – 50 meters. S.l.m., with north-west exposure
Characteristics of the vineyard: extension of 9 hectares. Planted in 1973 with a density of 1,800 plants / Ha. “Apulian tent” training system
Soil: clayey, calcareous
Yield per hectare: 80 quintals
Vinification and refinement: After a long maceration on the skins, the wine is left to refine in second passage French oak barriques for about 6 months. Refinement lasts in the bottle for 2 months
