The GUADO SAN LEO is the first wine of our company obtained only by NERO DI TROIA grapes and is the result of careful work of the grape Nero di Troia enhancement which, since 2001 has been initiated by our company in collaboration with prof. Luigi Moio. It ‘should be emphasized that, hitherto, the vine “Nero di Troia” had been almost completely forgotten and, in the few examples of winemaking, however, was assembled in vines such as Montepulciano or Sangiovese, which had to ensure the structure. Our work has shown however, in the face of many examples of winemaking, the grapes of Troy is greatly expressed vinified alone. The reference vineyard from which even today you get the “Guado San Leo” is based on a very rare clone with small berries and the great aromatic intensity present in our “Coppanetta” held since 1973 with breeding tent with a c intensity .ca 1,800 plants per hectare. At the aging barrels choices were produced in Burgundy, Allier and Nevers wood medium roast, which house wine for about 12 months.
